The two satellites Sputnik and Galaxy 11, the Earth and the cloud cover were all modelled and textured in Realsoft 3D. Three camera views were then added, and the actors animated such that Sputnik flies through space until it meets the enormous Galaxy 11, which knocks Sputnik out of space as it unfolds its solar panels. The scene was finally rendered out as a sequence of bitmap images.
